Compart Expands Standards Support

[Böblingen/Boston, October 15, 2007] – As part of it’s continuing pursuit of industry and international standards, Compart is pleased to announce that it has joined the Unicode Consortium, which cooperates with W3C and ISO. Unicode specifies the representation of text in modern software products and standards, eliminating the need to custom write code pages so documents render properly. Unicode support is especially helpful when generating or reading documents with international language support.

Although Compart has supported Unicode standards since 1998, Harald Grumser, the Managing Director of Compart says that “We have grown to a size where we can really contribute to the organization“. In addition to the Unicode Consortium, Compart is also a board member of the PDF/A Compentence Center (for PDF archiving) and an active participant in the AFP Consortium. This philosophy of standards support extends through all Compart‘s products, providing IT and service bureus the ability to use the products without extensive training on proprietary languages or interfaces.
